Here’s some good news for local Small Businesses. Last week, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved $25 million for a grant program to provide relief for small businesses suffering from the COVID-19 Stay at Home orders. Known as the Fairfax Rise COVID-19 Small Business and Nonprofit Relief Grant Fund, the program will provide direct grants to eligible small businesses, non-profit organizations and sole proprietors located within the County and the Towns of Herndon, Vienna and Clifton. Grantees must have been in business for more than one year, have fewer than 50 employees, employ at least one Full Time employee, and possess a valid business license. Grants of $10,000 (1-10 employees), $15,000 (11-25 employees) and $20,000 (26-49 employees) will be available to cover expenses such as employee compensation, rent, equipment inventory, working capital and other operating expenses.
