Located in the heart of the Fort Hunt/Mount Vernon community of Fairfax County, The Dean Law Firm was founded in 2019 to provide legal services to local residents, businesses and community organizations that make this area of Northern Virginia such a treasure.

We are a small firm dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized and quality legal services to our clients that won’t break the bank.

Our primary goal is to provide much-needed peace of mind and practical solutions to clients who want to prepare for the future or deal with difficult legal issues they may face in their day-to-day lives.

Since its founding, The Dean Law Firm has successfully provided critical legal services to hundreds of individuals, families and organizations throughout Northern Virginia. From drafting Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Advanced Medical Directives to helping families through probate and trust management, we handle all aspects of the estate planning and estate administration process.

We can help incorporate your small business and provide general counsel services to protect it from future litigation or other legal headaches. We have decades of experience working with nonprofit community organizations and stand ready to help your new or existing organization meet its objectives.

Paul J. Dean, Esq.

Paul J. Dean, Esq. is the founder and Managing Partner of The Dean Law Firm.  He is a graduate of Harvard University and the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason and is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia. His practice areas include Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Conservatorship and Guardianship, and Business Law. Paul also serves a Court Appointed Guardian ad Litem to represent the interest of incapacitated adults in Alexandria, Arlington and Fairfax County.

Paul has lived and worked in the Mt. Vernon/Alexandria area of Fairfax County for more than 25 years. After a successful government affairs career spanning more than two decades, he founded The Dean Law Firm to more directly meet the legal needs of individuals, families, small business owners, and non-profit organizations in his community.

Paul resides in the Ft. Hunt Community of Fairfax County with his wife, Kathleen, and four children. He is heavily involved in his community and serves on several non-profit Boards. He is a Board Member of the Mount Vernon/ Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and a former President of the Fort Hunt Athletic Association.

Dina Koch, Esq.

Dina Koch’s practice focuses on estate planning and estate administration. She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is proficient in Spanish.

After a diverse career in the legal, government, nonprofit and regulatory compliance sectors, she joined the Dean Law Firm as Of Counsel to assist individuals and families in feeling confident and supported as they plan for the future. Her unique blend of professional experiences allows her to offer practical, thoughtful guidance tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and needs. Known for her clear communication and compassionate approach, she works closely with clients to offer personalized attention at every stage and to tailor solutions that protect what matters most.

A native Texan, she has called Alexandria home for more than 20 years. Dina lives in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County with her husband and two children. She is an active community volunteer and enjoys staying connected to the community she serves.

Anne Kenney, Esq.

Anne Kenney is a proud military spouse and experienced estate planning attorney dedicated to helping individuals and families protect what matters most. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and received her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School, where she developed a strong foundation in thoughtful, client-centered legal planning.

Based in Alexandria, Virginia, Anne is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C. and Michigan and serves clients in various capacities across the DMV area. She works closely with individuals, families, and military households to create clear, practical estate plans tailored to their unique goals and circumstances. With a deep understanding of the complexities facing service members, veterans, and their families—including frequent relocations, deployments, and long-term benefits—she provides guidance designed to offer stability and peace of mind.

Anne is actively involved in her local Fort Hunt, Alexandria community where she lives with her husband, retired Marine Corps Colonel Jeff Kenney, and their three children.
